Reiki, Kisetsu and Japan
Spiritual Roots
Reiki was born in Japan, although —for historical reasons— it grew and spread mainly throughout the West. Even so, to truly understand its depth it is almost essential to return to the sources that gave it life: Shinto, Zen Buddhism and the quiet, intimate Japanese spirituality that embraces the fleeting beauty of each moment.
The name Kisetsu is an homage to that tradition. It means “seasons” and symbolises the spiritual path we walk as we move through endless cycles —without beginning or end— guided by presence and by a beauty that reveals itself to those who know how to look. Jordi chose it during his first journey to Japan, after buying a small book in Kyoto titled Japanese Mint.
Reiki Master Training in Japan
After several trips, Jordi felt that he should —and wanted to— take his students to discover that very special Japan: rural, spiritual, folkloric Japan; the Japan of Usui Sensei. The Japan that explains Reiki without needing words.
And, of course, Kurama: the sacred mountain where Usui Sensei, after a twenty-one-day retreat and fast, reached the realisation that inspired what we now call Shin Shin Kaizen Usui Reiki Ryōhō, the original school of Reiki.
Every year, in spring or autumn, Kisetsu organises a twelve-day Master Training in this Japan that Jordi loves so deeply. With warmth, dedication and passion, he teaches in temples, shrines and sacred places, while those who travel with him walk a path that transforms them forever.
